The Equity Initiative proudly congratulates Dr. Beverly Lorraine Ho (2017, Philippines) on her appointment as Acting President and CEO of PhilHealth.  

Dr. Ho brings over a decade of experience and expertise in the public health and public policy sectors of the Philippines. At the Department of Health (DOH), she served as chief of the Health Research Division of the Health Policy Development and Planning Bureau, then as director of the department's Office of Health Promotion and Communication Service. She went on to hold the ranks of Undersecretary and Assistant Secretary, and served as one of the department's Deputy Spokespersons through the COVID-19 pandemic. She joins PhilHealth from Ayala Healthcare Holdings, where she was Chief Health Officer. 

This new role is a testament to her commitment and the impact she continues to create for Filipinos. We are proud to see Fellows like her paving the way to a healthier and more equitable nation. 

Asked how the EI fellowship shaped her path, she said: “The Equity Initiative helped me build a strong network of people committed to equity and learn from how they model these values in their work and relationships. Most importantly, I learned that caring for myself is essential to sustaining equity work and showing up meaningfully for others.”
