Gigih Septianto is the founder and executive director of WeCare.id, an Indonesian crowdfunding platform addressing gaps in healthcare financing through collective philanthropy.  Inspired by his childhood in a small village clinic run by his parents, Gigih created WeCare.id to help patients and medical communities fundraise for urgent medical needs, particularly for those in underprivileged areas facing barriers to care.  In 2024, WeCare.id became part of Amartha, a leading fintech company empowering grassroots communities. WeCare.id is now rebranded as EMPOWER, expanding its mission beyond healthcare to provide safety nets and financial inclusion for underserved Indonesians.  Gigih has also led humanitarian responses through the platform, delivering aid during the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, and to conflict zones such as Gaza.
