Wai is Research Officer in the Department of Medical Research, Ministry of Health and Sports, Myanmar.

Wai is a qualitative and quantitative social scientist and has been carrying out extensive research on communicable disease, maternal and child health, and reproductive health. She has a keen interest in social justice in health care and her research focuses on access to health care and utilization of health services among vulnerable populations.

Currently she is working on quality improvement in the field of primary health care. She lectures on research methods training and also mentors for National Structured Operational Research Training Initiative courses.
