Nicola Suyin Pocock
Nicola Suyin Pocock is a child exploitation and health researcher. She currently works with the International Labour Organization to strengthen measurement of child and forced labour. In recent years, she has researched child domestic work in Myanmar with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she obtained her PhD. She also led research at the Lumos Foundation, a charity that supports countries to transition from children’s institutions to family-based care systems. Now a mum to two young children, Nicola is learning about Early Childhood Development and is currently pursuing training with Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), the global body founded by Dr Maria Montessori to promote children’s development through education. She is a trustee and co-founder of a family foundation with her husband Zuber, and is also exploring best policy and practice around reducing chemical environmental exposures so that children are better protected in places where they live, go to school and work. She cares deeply about a world where children are listened to, respected and supported to reach their fullest potential.
