Announcing our 2018 Cohort

The Equity Initiative is excited to announce its 2018 cohort of Fellows!

Our third cohort of Fellows, selected from across Southeast Asia and China, is composed of 25 professional from diverse sectors—lawyers, educators, social workers, government officials, NGO leaders, and others—all committed in their work to promote social justice and health in their communities, countries, region, and beyond.

These talented and dynamic individuals represent the third cohort of a 20-year fellowship program aimed at nurturing and facilitating the development of the next generation of leaders to promote and improve health equity in Southeast Asia and China. The Equity Initiative brings together working professionals from different backgrounds for six weeks of in-person sessions over one year, giving them the time and tools to learn from one another and deepen their knowledge, leadership competencies, and commitment to advance social justice in health.

Beyond the fellowship year Fellows will form the core of a multi-sectoral community for advancing health equity—a thriving network of health equity practitioners who are committed to pursuing social justice in health. Fellows are part of the global Atlantic Fellows community to advance fairer, healthier, and more inclusive societies.

The 2018 cohort represents the largest and most diverse group of Fellows to date, a testament to the growing interest in The Equity Initiative and the desire of young professionals in the region to play significant roles in advancing health equity. We extend our appreciation to our National Nominating Committees, Regional Selection Committee, Global Advisory Board, and our 2016 and 2017 Fellows for their efforts in publicizing the Equity Initiative and recruiting talented applicants.
